Clarence Edwin Barker
Clarence Edwin Barker died at his home in Stevensville, MD on Wednesday, August 31, 2005. He was 78.
Born September 29, 1926 in Ashville, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Henry and Bessie Barker. He was a graduate of Atlanta, Ohio High School. After earning his Masters Degree in Education, he taught for six years in Ohio. He then worked for three years for the U.S. Government as a civilian supply officer for the U.S. Air Force and then seven years as a salesman trainer for Remington Rand. He then returned to teaching in Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Third Haven Society of Friends.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, the former Monimia Hoak, whom he married June 15, 1946 in Waynesville, OH; six children, Charles N. Barker of Silver Spring, MD, Bruce A. Barker of Lake Oswego, OR, Gary W. Barker, Sr. of Chapel Hill, NC, Seth E. Barker of Centreville, MD, Rebecca L. Cridler of Charlestown, WVA, and Robert F. Barker of Centreville, MD; an adopted daughter, Kathy Ashtrom; a brother, Herald Barker of Urbana, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Milford Barker, and a grandson, Michael Barker.
